  This is a major theme update for the Rainbow theme. Pretty-much the entire theme has been re-worked. This version is now easier to use, compatibility with different web browsers has been improved and several new features introduced that users have requested. This update is being provided as a free update for existing users and incorporates the following changes:

  • The rainbow strip and navigation bar at the top can be toggled between scrolling or sticky
  • Desktop users are now presented with the menu in 'drop-down' configuration
  • Simplified the choice of settings shown, to make the theme easier to use. More aspects of the theme are now automated and content-aware
  • Fixes some issues whereby the menu might not work reliably on some touch devices
  • Improvements to the positioning and colouring of Font Awesome icons placed in navigation links
  • Changed the location of some ExtraContent containers
  • The mobile toggle menu can now be floated left or right more easily and the option exists for desktop to use the mobile menu too
  • Added the ability to set a banner image behind the site title / slogan and control its positioning
  • Updated Bootstrap to version 4.1.1
  • Updated Font Awesome Icons to version 5.0.13
  • jQuery is now called locally, from within the theme
  • Moved all Javascript calls to the end of the page, to promote faster page loading
  • Tidied and re-indended the index.html file, to make future edits easier
  • Minified the main scripts.js file
  • Added a custom.js file to the theme, for the benefit of users wanting to write their own Javascript
  • Greatly expanded the choice of font face options available
  • Container clearers now use classes instead of inline CSS

  Rainbow is now GDPR compliant. All Font Awesome icons, jQuery Javascript and embedded font faces are stored within the theme contents; with no links or calls to external locations. The fonts listed all support Latin extended characters.

  The Rainbow update is provided as a free update for all existing users. You can get the update via automatic updates in RapidWeaver / Waterfall or download this latest version from your Paddle account.
